Here We Go Again

Another NFL player has shed a nasty light on the league’s image.

This time it is former Bronco Travis Henry. Henry tested positive for marijuana use back in May, when he was notified by league officials, and was released by Denver on June 2nd.

The Broncos claim that they never knew of his positive test results.

Henry was released because he stopped showing up to work while recovering from an injury.

Henry will be suspended for one year, per the league policy, which should begin soon. He would have been suspended last year for testing positive for marijuana but appealed the decision and the ruling was overturned.

Henry has also played for Tennessee and Buffalo.

He has amassed 6,086 rushing yards and 38 rushing touchdowns over seven seasons.

This is yet another blow to the league’s image in just a couple of days. Earlier in the week Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones was arrested for possession of cocaine.

Roger Goodell has a lot more work to do to clean up the image of the NFL and its players.
