Favre’s Fans Rally for Reinstatement

Published by hcbb10 at 11:05 pm under NFL Edit This

The Brett Favre era still has not come to a complete end in the NFL.

For a man who ‘retired’ in March amidst a ton of tears, Favre has contacted the Packers front office and has requested his unconditional release from the franchise that he helped return to glory.

The Packers denied him of his request and a subsequent rally was held by Packers fans to get Favre reinstated with the team.

The team did say that if Favre wished to return to the Packers he will have to be the backup to starting QB Aaron Rodgers.

The rally took place outside of Lambeau Field and was attended by just over 100 people.

This should be quite a developing story as training camps begin in August. If Favre does return, will he embrace the role as backup to the QB who backed him up for the past few seasons?

If he does embrace it, how long will the good feelings last? Will he just be happy with being at the stadium each Sunday or will he have to be on the field for every snap?

Head Coach Mike McCarthy and GM Ted Thompson have already stated that they will not grant Favre his wish to be released in order for him to sign with another team and that they would welcome him back in a different role.
