Gavin Floyd makes the biggest start of his career this afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field for the White Sox as they try to stave off elimination for a second straight day.

The Rays hold a 2 games to 1 advantage over the Central division champions and will look to eliminate the ChiSox later today and not have to worry about returning home with the series tied and only one game left to play.

Andy Sonnanstine goes for the Rays; this year’s and maybe this decade’s miracle ball club.

The game gets underway at 5:07pm Eastern time and the weather should be much better than yesterday’s.

If the Rays win today it will be the franchise’s first postseason series win in history and their first ever berth in the League Championship Series. They would await the winner of the Angels-Red Sox series.

If the ChiSox win they would force a fifth game to be played in Tampa on Wednesday.
