Lions Sign Culpepper
The Detroit Lions, desperately needing a quarterback, signed veteran Daunte Culpepper to a two year contract on Saturday.
Culpepper was retired and had to come out of retirement before signing with the Lions.
The Lions needed to sign Culpepper because starter Jon Kitna was placed on the injured reserve a couple of weeks ago and will miss the remainder of the 2008 season.
Culpepper signs his two year deal with the Lions only two weeks after coming out of retirement. He originally retired after not receiving any contract offers for longer than two years at a time from any NFL team during the offseason.
Culpepper has played for the Minnesota Vikings and the Oakland Raiders.
He has thrown 142 career touchdowns and 94 career interceptions.
