Martz Fined for Comments

San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike Martz has been fined by the National Football League for his comments about the officiating in a game against the Arizona Cardinals earlier this month.

Martz was fined $20,000 for blaming the officials for the chaotic end to the 49ers-Cardinals game on November 10th.

The Cardinals won the game 29-24 but the 49ers were roughly three yards away from scoring with time expiring and it would have given the 49ers the win.

Martz complained about the spot of the ball, which was originally at the one yard line, and after official review was moved back to the 2 and 1/2 yard line.

Martz claims that they were never able to change the play since the officials did not change the spot of the ball until right before they wound the clock.
