Harrison Top Defensive Player
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ James Harrison has been named the Top Defensive Player of the Year for the 2008 NFL season.
Harrison had a career high 16 sacks during the regular season, which is a team record, and also had a career high seven forced fumbles in 2008. That latter number led the league.
Harrison tallied 101 total tackles in 2008 and pulled in one interception to help lead the vaunted Steelers defense.
The Steelers play host to the San Diego Chargers this weekend in the Divisional round of the AFC playoffs.
Harrison is one of the top linebackers in the league and can now boast the title as Top Defensive Player of the Year as well.
